Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Text entered in a sponsored search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a site-side log of names or case numbers entered there.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, the message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal server and analytics logs may collect:
- Your device’s IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- A referring site, when available
- The time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure use, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics services summarize that traffic. Browser controls can reject cookies, though doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate and improve site speed and availability
- Send a submitted search to the selected provider
- Understand which resources visitors use
- Find and correct technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Yakima County Court Docket does not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of personal case records. It publishes general routing information for the Yakima County Clerk, Yakima County Superior Court, District and municipal courts, and Washington AOC search tools. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and visitor data is not assembled into reports about third parties. Washington GR 31 governs access to court case records; GR 31.1 separately governs judiciary administrative records. Neither rule makes this private site a custodian.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes shown on some pages. Their privacy terms control any information submitted to them. We do not set their retention, disclosure, or processing rules. Read the provider’s policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Yakima County Clerk, local courts, Washington AOC, legal-aid resources, or commercial providers. Once you leave, the destination’s policy applies. Review it before disclosing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites. We do not control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Search providers that process a query
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place advertisements
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet service is completely secure, however, so uninterrupted security or the absence of a breach cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect a minor’s personal information. If such information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights may differ based on the law that applies where you live. Washington court-access rules concern official court records and do not replace privacy rights relating to this private service. At minimum, you may:
- Request a copy of personal data we retain
- Ask for incorrect information to be corrected
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Object to certain forms of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A new version will appear here with an updated effective date, and continued use after publication will be subject to that version.
